The type of apartment that you can afford will be very much reliant on the area of the country that you live in and the cost of living that is associated with that area. For some people, finding the apartment of their dreams may even mean moving to a location that does not have such a high cost of living, such as parts of the Midwest. It is incredibly important, however, that you do not sign a lease for an apartment that you know for a fact you will have trouble affording down the line – or even right away. This is only likely to get you in a good deal of financial trouble that it could be difficult to pull yourself out from.
