Three Hilarious Pranks You Can Perform With Replacement Remotes

Car remote control replacement

For most people, programming a remote is a tedious and lengthy process they’d rather do without. But remote programming doesn’t have to be boring. In fact, it’s a key component in some pretty great pranks. Here are just a few remote programming pranks you can pull on your friends:

    Prank 1: Double Remotes

There are plenty of websites where you can find replacement television remote controls identical to the ones you (or your friends) currently own, usually at a reasonable price. With a little remote programming, the new remote will work just as well with the original device as the old one.

Once you’ve programmed the remote, all you have to do is wait until your unsuspecting target is watching TV. Then you can change back to the cooking channel no matter how many times they try to switch to the football game, or switch the volume.

    Prank 2: Broken Remote

You can cause all kinds of mayhem with replacement remotes, so here’s another way you can use them to mess with your friends. Buy a replacement remote and mess it up. Paint it pink, run it over with a truck, feed it to the dog, anything that you think your friend would not be too pleased about. Then leave it around for them to find. After they’ve fumed for a bit, reveal that the actual remote is still in working condition.

    Prank 3: Ninja Remote

This one might cost you a little more, but prank devices like the Ninja Remote can hijack any television without any programming at all. The device cycles through hundreds of remote codes in seconds so that you’ll be able to control practically any device. You can change channels randomly, wreak havoc with the volume and block other remotes from controlling the device. You’ll have to spend $30, but you’ll be able to use it on almost any device you come across.

Try these pranks on your friends and let us know how they went in the comments!
